NAIC tells Warren insurers will standardise private-investment reporting from year-end 2026 statements
A separate NAIC report puts life insurers' affiliated investments at $321bn as of year-end 2025.
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has told Senator Elizabeth Warren that insurers will report private investments using a common classification and a new standardised disclosure. In a letter dated 24 September 2026, NAIC said the requirement begins with financial statements as of year-end 2026.
The letter covers state regulators' oversight of links between private investment firms and insurers.…
