Aegon Asset Management has launched Luxembourg-domiciled UCITS funds giving investors access to European collateralised loan obligations, structures the manager describes as backed by diversified pools of corporate loans, typically to sub-investment-grade companies.
Two funds appear on Aegon AM’s own pages: the Aegon European CLO Fund, which invests across investment-grade tranches with an average credit quality of A/BBB and holds no non-investment-grade CLOs, and the Aegon European CLO Opportunities Fund, which focuses on non-investment-grade tranches and is open to institutional investors only.
Italian outlet Bluerating reported on 3 September that the range runs to three funds, all Luxembourg UCITS with daily liquidity, the third being Aegon High Grade CLO, which buys AAA and AA tranches with AA exposure capped at 25 per cent. German coverage on 4 September carried the same three-fund split. Aegon AM’s own fund pages list only the investment-grade and opportunities funds, which leaves the high-grade fund’s tranche limits and the 25 per cent cap resting on the press accounts.
