Aperture pitches $600m litigation finance as private credit
Aperture said Luke Darkow joined to lead the new strategy.
Aperture Investors on 12 August said its Litigation Finance Private Credit platform had expanded to more than $600m in assets, with about $1bn of total investment capacity. The announcement also tied that expansion to the arrival of Luke Darkow, who joined to lead the new private credit litigation finance strategy.
Aperture is presenting the business as a private credit strategy rather than a conventional litigation-finance pool. That framing rests on the structure it has set out: the strategy will primarily make structured loans to law firms, secured against expected fee receivables rather than pure legal-outcome risk.
Those receivables are expected to come from procedurally mature, settled and-or short-duration cases.
