Rates and credit
Government-bond volatility contrasted with resilient investment-grade credit amid fiscal and energy-inflation concerns. Selected 2-to-10-year UK gilt and German Bund yields rose from Monday's open despite Friday's rally; equivalent French yields fell. European investment-grade CDS indices tightened heading into Friday's close; US investment-grade corporate cash spreads narrowed slightly through Thursday. European high-yield spreads were generally range-bound, while US high-yield risk premiums widened during Wednesday–Thursday trading amid doubts about AI growth costs. Emerging-market dollar corporate and quasi-government spreads ended Thursday unchanged from the previous Friday.
