PIC private credit allocation reaches £15bn across strategies

PIC has reported that its private credit allocation has reached £15bn across strategies, with no independently verifiable public data yet available to confirm this figure. Public search results also do not provide corroborated detail on the composition of these strategies or any associated origination pipeline.

Available market research instead focuses on broader private credit trends, including projections that US retail allocations could rise from US$0.1 trillion to US$2.4 trillion by 2030. One large manager, Ares Management, reported holding US$150 billion in private credit dry powder in Q2 2025, showing the scale of capital currently available to the asset class.

Wellington Management has estimated that the potential addressable market for private credit exceeds US$30 trillion, providing context for continued growth in insurer allocations. No specific timing, portfolio breakdown, or forward allocation targets for PIC’s £15bn private credit exposure have been publicly verified at this stage.
