The regulator would expect detailed execution plans only once a firm's solvent exit became a reasonable prospect.
The Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) has proposed that insurers it regulates prepare for an orderly solvent exit as part of their business-as-usual activities and be able to execute one if needed. The proposals are set out in consultation paper CP2/24, Solvent exit planning for insurers, published on 23 January 2024.
