Standard Life secures up to £2bn for UK pension buyouts
Standard Life is contributing £500m of the initial capital alongside its new investors.
Standard Life announced a strategic partnership on 20 August with CVC Capital Partners and Prudential Financial of the US, alongside Goldman Sachs, MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings and other long-term institutional investors, to expand its pension risk transfer business.
The partnership will be funded by a combined initial capital commitment of up to £2bn, including £500m from Standard Life.
It will be delivered through Standard Life's existing regulated insurance platform and operated through Standard Life PRT Solutions Limited, a PRA-regulated entity.
