Allianz draws mainly on German policyholder funds for Scaleup Europe Fund investment

Allianz says the fund targets €5 billion and was launched with European Commission funding through the European Innovation Council.

Allianz said in a release dated 17 September 2026 that it had invested in the Scaleup Europe Fund, which is intended to promote the growth of emerging deep-tech companies in Europe. The insurer said the investment was largely sourced from policyholders' funds held by Allianz Lebensversicherung and Allianz Private Krankenversicherung in Germany.
