Broadcom, Apollo and Blackstone establish platform to accelerate more than 20GW of global AI deployments
Apollo leads the first tranche, with Blackstone financing through its credit and insurance arm.
Insurer-linked capital is being put behind AI compute infrastructure. Broadcom today established the AI XPV Platform with Apollo and Blackstone's Credit & Insurance Business as initial anchor investors. The platform launches with an initial tranche of $35bn led by Apollo, in partnership with Blackstone, to facilitate Anthropic's previously announced expansion of more than 1 gigawatt of compute capacity, expected to deploy at Fluidstack-based sites from mid-2026.
Jon Gray, president of Blackstone, said the firm would provide financing through its credit and insurance business.
The platform is designed to enable more than 20 gigawatts of compute capacity through 2028, using Broadcom's XPUs and networking customised for frontier AI labs including Anthropic and OpenAI.
