Generali, AG2R La Mondiale add Eiffel private debt fund
On 21 July, Eiffel Investment Group said Eiffel Private Credit had been added to life insurance contracts distributed by Generali and AG2R La Mondiale, extending distribution of the private debt fund beyond its original launch with CNP Assurances a year earlier. The move brings the strategy into additional insurance wrappers rather than changing the fund’s underlying remit: financing European small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-caps across sectors.
Eiffel Private Credit is offered as a unit-linked investment through life insurance, capitalisation and retirement savings contracts, and is also available via a securities account. That structure matters because it places private credit exposure inside retail insurance savings products, with weekly valuation and liquidity features, although investors still face capital-loss risk and redemptions remain subject to European long-term investment fund gates.
The fund was approved as a European long-term investment fund (ELTIF) 2.0 by the French Financial Markets Authority, or Autorité des marchés financiers, and carries a summary risk indicator of 3 out of 7. Eiffel said the recommended holding period is five years, reflecting the longer-dated nature of the underlying private debt assets despite the weekly dealing framework.
The strategy was launched for private customers in partnership with CNP Assurances and was designed to finance European SMEs and mid-caps, including businesses in sectors linked to the autonomy and competitiveness of France and the EU. Adding Generali and AG2R La Mondiale gives Eiffel another route through life insurance distribution networks and broadens access to the strategy without altering its core investment focus.
